- What are conditional moves?
- What does "Skip Board" do?
1. What are conditional moves?
Conditional moves allow players to set a sequence of moves that, if the opponent follows it, will be played for them automatically. It's useful for saving time, especially during the endgame. Here is an example sequence to demonstrate how it works:
Opponent: Q-16
You: D-4
If the opponent plays Q-16, the server will automatically play your move (D-4).
What about a longer sequence, where the opponent might not play what you set?
Opponent: Q-16
You: D-4
Opponent: Q-3
You: D-16
Assume that your opponent plays Q-16, so D-4 is played for you automatically. Next, instead of Q-3, the opponent plays a different move, e.g. K-10. What happens then? Since his move was not the one you set, the sequence is broken, and deactivates. You must now set a new sequence to continue using conditional moves. You may also set multiple sequences with different lines of play.
