This tournament is made as a commemorative of “Gosei Kanren Memorial Junior Go Tournament (碁聖寛蓮記念ジュニア囲碁大会)” in Ureshino City, Saga. The tournament still continues with the name changed as “Ureshino Junior Go Tournament (嬉野ジュニア囲碁大会)”.\n\n「第二回碁聖寛蓮記念カップ」です。碁聖は現在にも続く日本の囲碁のタイトルの一つで、寛蓮は最初の碁聖と言われております。この大会は嬉野市で開催されていた「碁聖寛蓮記念ジュニア囲碁大会」の改名に因んで作りました。「碁聖寛蓮記念ジュニア囲碁大会」は現在は「嬉野ジュニア囲碁大会」と改名し、現在も佐賀県の嬉野市で開催されております。",
