[19:42] Samraku[1d]: These time controls good?
[19:42] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: so 23061995 in that script?
[19:42] Samraku[1d]: yep
[19:42] Samraku[1d]: I'll wait until you get it working to start
[19:43] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: yeah i think it works now
[19:43] Samraku[1d]: You see the letters up above the chat?
[19:44] Samraku[1d]: Okay :)
Move 1
[19:44] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: so now 2 w stones?
[19:44] Samraku[1d]: yep
Move 2
[19:44] Samraku[1d]: it will explicitly say "PASS" instead of B or W when you need to pass
Move 21
[19:49] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: oh wait its 2 b moves
[19:50] Samraku[1d]: yep
Move 22
[19:50] Samraku[1d]: I was wondering if you'd see the TM tactic
[19:50] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: my first time on this ^^
Move 26
[19:51] Samraku[1d]: I still miss those types of things in TMG, though it's becoming a lot less common
Move 38
[19:55] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: yaay points xD
Move 60
[20:03] Samraku[1d]: Hi, Vsotvep

[20:10] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: hmm right right
[20:10] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: aaarg guess i cant try anything aggressive here >____>
[20:11] Samraku[1d]: I am trying to limit your options for your double-move here, yes.
Move 74
[20:12] Samraku[1d]: Trying to strengthen Black's naturally strong BBWWBB sequence
Move 119
[20:39] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: right right >___<
[20:39] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: hmm this is hard ;___;
Move 122
[20:40] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: new plan: keep at least one group alive ^___^
Move 148
[20:58] Vsotvep[2d]: Hi Samraku ;)

[20:59] Vsotvep[2d]: Tough game
Move 150
[21:02] Panada[8k]: yea. i dont think ill be able to play this XD
Move 151
[21:03] Vsotvep[2d]: It's fun, it tickles your brain in a very weird way if you're used to normal go (orthogo, as Samraku calls it)
Move 263
[21:54] Samraku[1d]: oops
[21:54] Samraku[1d]: was that a pass for me?
[21:55] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: yeah i think its your move >__>
Move 265
[21:55] Samraku[1d]: yeah; thanks
Move 268
[21:55] Vsotvep[2d]: Oh no! You passed twice, now the move numbers will not line up
Move 269
[21:56] Panada[8k]: they could always undo
Move 271
[21:56] Panada[8k]: not that thay can see us till they end the game
Move 275
[21:57] Panada[8k]: o $*!%. that bottom left white group is almost dead
[21:57] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: wasnt it your turn to pass now?
[21:58] Samraku[1d]: I think we messed up correcting the undo
[21:58] Samraku[1d]: Vsotvep caught it
[21:59] Samraku[1d]: I think we need to undo to thant point
[21:59] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: or just continue from here?
[21:59] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: should matter that much
Move 276
[21:59] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: *shouldn't
[22:00] Samraku[1d]: no, I messed up later
[22:00] Samraku[1d]: 274
[22:00] Samraku[1d]: I should have passded
[22:00] Samraku[1d]: can you request undo?
[22:00] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: oh well that doenst' matter ^^
[22:00] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: lets just play from this ^^
[22:00] Vsotvep[2d]: In the grand scheme of things nothing matters :P
[22:00] Samraku[1d]: my 1-5 move shouldn't be here
[22:01] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: its ok, 1 extra b stone doesnt change the result xD
[22:01] Panada[8k]: black has a huge advantage atm yea. thers not much white can do atm
Move 277
[22:02] Vsotvep[2d]: SE tells me B+77
Move 279
[22:02] Panada[8k]: aye. black gained a lot when it killed the J1 group
[22:02] Samraku[1d]: Close enough now
[22:02] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: hmm buts its my turn to pass now >___>
[22:02] Samraku[1d]: correct number of stones for each
[22:03] Samraku[1d]: It's WBBWBWWBBWWBWBB
[22:03] Samraku[1d]: WWBBWBWWBBWWBWBB
Move 281
[22:04] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: so i pass now?
[22:04] Samraku[1d]: yeah
[22:04] Samraku[1d]: sorry I messed it up
Move 283
[22:04] Samraku[1d]: WBWWBBWWBWBBWW
Move 284
[22:05] Vsotvep[2d]: It's sad that a single mistake can really make it difficult to get back on track with the game
Move 285
[22:05] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: now mine twice?
[22:05] Samraku[1d]: yep
Move 291
[22:06] Samraku[1d]: WWBWBBWWBBWBWWBBWWBWBBWB
Move 295
[22:07] Samraku[1d]: WBBWWBBWBWWBBWWBWBBWB
[22:10] Samraku[1d]: I'm just typing these out based on my physical turn tracker, so feel free to request any easy to do formatting which would make the moves easier to read
Move 299
[22:11] Samraku[1d]: WWBBWBWWBBWWBWBBWBWWBWBBWWBBWBWW
Move 303
[22:12] Samraku[1d]: yep
Move 307
[22:13] Samraku[1d]: WWBBWWBWBBWBWWBWBBWWBB
Move 313
[22:14] Samraku[1d]: WBBWBWWBWBBWWBBWBWW
Move 315
[22:14] Samraku[1d]: note
Move 317
[22:15] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: is it pass again?
[22:15] Samraku[1d]: no
[22:15] Samraku[1d]: WBBWBWW
Move 318
[22:16] Samraku[1d]: I sent the earlier a tad early, sorry
Move 321
[22:16] Samraku[1d]: WBWWBWBBWWBBWBWW
[22:16] Samraku[1d]: now on time
Move 323
[22:17] Samraku[1d]: WWBWBBWWBBWBWW
Move 328
[22:19] Samraku[1d]: WWBBWBWWBWBBWBWWBBWWBWBBW
[22:19] Samraku[1d]: after my double
Move 329
[22:20] Samraku[1d]: pass and then above
Move 331
[22:20] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: oh so were usinga rea scoring?
[22:20] Samraku[1d]: yeah
Move 339
[22:23] Samraku[1d]: WWBWBBWBWWBBWWBWBB
Move 341
[22:23] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: i guess i could have just passed
Move 342
[22:24] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: hehee thank you!
[22:24] Vsotvep[2d]: It's area scoring and all dame are filled, so it doesn't matter
[22:24] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: it was weird xD
[22:24] Samraku[1d]: thank you for the game
[22:24] Samraku[1d]: sorry for messing up the move order
[22:24] Vsotvep[2d]: Good game :)
[22:24] Panada[8k]: that was fun to watch
[22:24] Samraku[1d]: It's even more fun to play
[22:24] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: hahah that took almost 3 hours xD
[22:24] Vsotvep[2d]: Now it's time to see Leela freak out
[22:24] Samraku[1d]: :D
[22:25] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: hmm i should learn some tmg tactics for the next time ^^
[22:26] Vsotvep[2d]: You could play against me, I haven't won from Samraku yet
[22:26] Samraku[1d]: Best way to learn TMG tactics right now is playing games, afaik
[22:26] Vsotvep[2d]: He's been practicing too much
[22:26] Samraku[1d]: Only thing I've been doing is trying to get games with people
[22:27] Vsotvep[2d]: I like the idea of setting up a small tournament
[22:27] Samraku[1d]: I do too
[22:27] Vsotvep[2d]: low key round robin: each week you play one game against an opponent
[22:27] Vsotvep[2d]: a few weeks later, Samraku is declared champion
[22:27] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: could that scrips also pass for us instead just showing that its turn to pass?
[22:28] Samraku[1d]: flovo has one
[22:28] Vsotvep[2d]: I guess it wouldn't be too difficult to put in it
[22:28] Samraku[1d]: I don't recall if he's released it or not
[22:29] Panada[8k]: how did you put a script in the game XD
[22:29] Vsotvep[2d]: Through a javascript injection plugin in the browser
[22:29] Samraku[1d]: with Tampermonkey, which inserts javascript into webpages after they load
[22:29] Samraku[1d]: or what Vsotvep said :D
[22:30] Panada[8k]: weird
[22:30] Vsotvep[2d]: See thue morse-fair-sharing-sequence-a-possible-alternative-to-komi and onwards (Samraku made some improvements and put it on github)
[22:31] Vsotvep[2d]: sorry, wrong link
[22:31] Samraku[1d]: Just formatting; Vsotvep did 99% of the work you see in that script.
[22:31] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: butr htanks for the game again, it was both fun and weird ^___^
[22:32] Samraku[1d]: Thank you for playing
[22:32] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: i need a smoke now ^^
[22:32] Vsotvep[2d]: There's also one by flovo, written in python: thue morse-fair-sharing-sequence-a-possible-alternative-to-komi
[22:33] Samraku[1d]: ^
[22:33] Vsotvep[2d]: (I guess it's python)
[22:33] Vsotvep[2d]: (not sure how to implement it)
[22:33] Samraku[1d]: Me neither; I've never used Python
[22:34] Panada[8k]: are there pros that played gams like this XD
[22:34] Samraku[1d]: Not to my knowledge
[22:34] Vsotvep[2d]: As far as I know, BHydden invented this game type on the forum
[22:34] Samraku[1d]: Would you like to play a correspondence game (or live; either one (or both)), Panada?
[22:34] Panada[8k]: it doesnt look like python
[22:35] Samraku[1d]: maybe Ruby?
[22:35] Samraku[1d]: I only dipped my toe in that one once and couldn't stand it
[22:36] Samraku[1d]: Only thing worse is SQL syntax
[22:37] Samraku[1d]: It's like the person who designed SQL never heard of an object, and the people who chose query languages to build databases around never heard of picking a language that was decades out of date.
[22:37] Samraku[1d]: The only thing it has going for it is ubiquity and tradition
[22:38] Samraku[1d]: sorry for off topic; I do not like SQL
[22:38] Vsotvep[2d]: I don't like it either
[22:38] Vsotvep[2d]: I tried using it twice, both times the whole project came to a halt and was abandoned because of SQL :P
[22:39] Samraku[1d]: :D
[22:41] Vsotvep[2d]: Only thing I needed was a three dimensional database
[22:41] Vsotvep[2d]: guess I should probably approach that whole thing from a different angle
[22:42] Vsotvep[2d]: Anyways, fun game!
[22:42] Panada[8k]: aye
[22:42] Samraku[1d]: Like, in a "SELECT FROM WHERE" statement, you would expect from the syntax that maybe the result of WHERE is being passed to FROM, whose result is then passed to SELECT. But no, if you look at what the statement actually does, it conceptually takes the output from FROM, passes it to WHERE, and passes the result of that to SELECT.
[22:42] Samraku[1d]: yeah, enjoyable gme
[22:43] Panada[8k]: im sure if you suggest it to the site owners they could look into intergrating it
[22:43] Samraku[1d]: Might be a hard sell with only a half-dozen to a dozen active players
[22:44] Samraku[1d]: not sure on exact numbers
[22:44] Vsotvep[2d]: It'll be integrated after Rengo
[22:44] Samraku[1d]: roft
[22:44] Samraku[1d]: rofl?
[22:44] Vsotvep[2d]: which has been on the list for years
[22:44] Samraku[1d]: rofl^
[22:44] Samraku[1d]: I can't emote
[22:44] Samraku[1d]: yeah
[22:45] Samraku[1d]: Honestly, I'd prefer rengo (and-or zengo, which is really odd numbers >=3 rengo) to get implemented to TMG
[22:46] Samraku[1d]: Since it feels less like a variant and more like just some different settin/gs
[22:46] Panada[8k]: what is rengo
[22:46] Vsotvep[2d]: Pair go
[22:46] Samraku[1d]: two players on each team
[22:46] Panada[8k]: ah
[22:46] Samraku[1d]: who each play every other move
[22:47] Vsotvep[2d]: 2 v 2, taking turns without communication
[22:47] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: or rather, egf calls that pairgo
[22:47] Panada[8k]: but then wouldnt the sequence have to be modified then?
[22:47] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: and rengo is 3 vs 3
[22:47] Samraku[1d]: really?
[22:48] Panada[8k]: from the video you posted this sequence is only fair if its between 2 people
[22:48] Samraku[1d]: I thought rengo was the traditional 2v2, and pairgo was a newer twist where it had to be 1 female 1 male?
[22:48] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: and pairgo for some reason always have male-female pairs, while rengo teams are whatever
[22:48] Samraku[1d]: Or is that just a Korean thing?
[22:48] ๐Ÿ’– KoBa ๐Ÿ’–[1d]: idk, its egc thing too
[22:49] Vsotvep[2d]: ้€ฃ็ข, it just means "group go"
[22:49] Vsotvep[2d]: it's Japanese
[22:49] Samraku[1d]: you have nerd-sniped me
[22:50] Samraku[1d]: I'm trying to remember that first kanji without using yomichan because I know it's on one of my flashcards
[22:50] Vsotvep[2d]: it means more than just group, I actually had to look it up for the other meanings
[22:50] Samraku[1d]: and it's not "un" that means luck or fortune; that has a hat thing
[22:50] Samraku[1d]: yeah, if I wanted the meaning I'd hold shift and highlight for yomichan
[22:51] Samraku[1d]: But I know I should know at least something about that kanji
[22:51] Vsotvep[2d]: I know it best from ้€ฃ็ตก, "meeting"
[22:51] Vsotvep[2d]: ้‹
[22:51] Samraku[1d]: Ahh, I used yomichan on it; it's one that I keep getting wrong
[22:52] Samraku[1d]: I have a card that uses it in a verb meaning "to take along"
[22:52] Samraku[1d]: I forget the reading :/
[22:53] Samraku[1d]: obviously not "ren", but oh well
[22:54] Samraku[1d]: with how much I'm getting it wrong I'm sure it's already ready for review in SRS :/
[22:54] Vsotvep[2d]: ใ†ใ‚Œใ‚‹, I guess
[22:55] Samraku[1d]: could be
[22:55] Vsotvep[2d]: ้€ฃใ‚Œใ‚‹
[22:55] Vsotvep[2d]: didn't know that word yet
[22:55] Samraku[1d]: ahh
[22:55] Samraku[1d]: that second is the one
[22:55] Vsotvep[2d]: Good reminder, I should be doing my SRS, actually...
[22:55] Samraku[1d]: :D
[22:55] Vsotvep[2d]: /boots up anki
[22:56] Samraku[1d]: I've tried anki before, but I really like kitsun because of the WK-style SRS
[22:56] Samraku[1d]: And user-friendly interface
[22:56] Vsotvep[2d]: I've made my anki cards *very* fancy
[22:57] Samraku[1d]: Yeah, I've heard of some impressive things done with Anki
[22:57] Vsotvep[2d]: I like how this has become completely off-topic
[22:58] Samraku[1d]: I think it's gone off topic at least 3 or 4 times
[23:00] Samraku[1d]: Well, have fun with Anki; out of curiousity, how do you normally add things?
[23:01] Samraku[1d]: just things you come across from whereever?
[23:01] Samraku[1d]: Or more systematic?
[23:01] Vsotvep[2d]: I'm in the process of automating things
[23:01] Vsotvep[2d]: I did a lot by hand, but it's quite a lot of time wasted adding new words
[23:02] Vsotvep[2d]: so I'm now busy on writing a script that will put all JLPT2 vocab in there
[23:02] Vsotvep[2d]: the main problem is that I insist on having furigana above the kanji, which makes things a lot harder
[23:03] Samraku[1d]: :D
[23:03] Samraku[1d]: I find furigana so tempting to look at
[23:03] Vsotvep[2d]: So it's only visible after revealing the answer ;)
[23:03] Samraku[1d]: oh, okay
[23:03] Vsotvep[2d]: If you're interested I can share the deck with you after it's finished
[23:04] Samraku[1d]: A Japanese manga I'm reading for practice has furigana and I have so much trouble not looking at it even when I recognize the kanji
[23:04] Vsotvep[2d]: Doing all JLPT levels shouldn't me much more work, once it's automated
[23:04] Samraku[1d]: I think N2 is a good deal above my level
[23:05] Samraku[1d]: I think bunpro and WK along with adding words to my own SRS deck on kitsun is probably a good combination for me right now
[23:05] Samraku[1d]: honestly it's probably already too much SRS and not enough immersion, even at my level
[23:06] Vsotvep[2d]: can't hurt to have a larger vocabulary
[23:06] Vsotvep[2d]: What really helped me a lot was https://www.imabi.net/
[23:07] Vsotvep[2d]: Grammar for adults
[23:07] Samraku[1d]: Unless you know 10,000 words, but don't know that "ga" is sometimes ommitted in casual speec.
[23:07] Vsotvep[2d]: (I still don't know what "ga" really is :D)
[23:07] Samraku[1d]: As in the phrase that everyone knows regardless of Japanese ability "sukida"
[23:07] Samraku[1d]: subject marker
[23:08] Samraku[1d]: disclaimer: I fully admit that I have subscribed to the cult of Cure Dolly
[23:08] Panada[8k]: $*!% guys
[23:08] Panada[8k]: i look away for one second and you had a whole other converstion
[23:08] Panada[8k]: XD
[23:08] Samraku[1d]: :D
[23:09] Vsotvep[2d]: Cure Dolly creeps me out.... o.o However, the point of her first video is also why I like imabi: it's done from a linguistic perspective, with a focus on Japanese, not on translating English
[23:10] Samraku[1d]: That's what I appreciate as well, along with her tendency to have an opinion which may be controversial, and refuse to apologize for it because she shouldn't apologize for being right. I respect that in people
[23:11] Vsotvep[2d]: which opinion?
[23:11] Panada[8k]: i tried learning japanese at one point. gave up since i didnt have anyone that could learn it with me. now im learning french
[23:11] Samraku[1d]: All of them :D
[23:12] Samraku[1d]: Basically every video is her presenting the "correct" way of looking at a grammar point
[23:12] Samraku[1d]: And that seems to make some people view her as arrogant
[23:13] Vsotvep[2d]: Hm
[23:13] Samraku[1d]: But I'm a Milo Yiannopoulous (however you spell it) fan for partly the same reason: I respect sticking to one's guns when one believes one is not in the wrong.
[23:13] Vsotvep[2d]: Well, grammar is just humans trying to make sense of an organic structure that we have come up with over the years. There's not really a "correct" way of looking at it
[23:13] Samraku[1d]: true
[23:14] Samraku[1d]: but some ways are more correct than others
[23:14] Vsotvep[2d]: I respect it, as long as you can also admit when you're wrong after you find out you're wrong
[23:14] Samraku[1d]: That's good too, because if you can't do that, then you either have to get very very lucky and just so happen to believe all the right things, or believe a bunch of false things
[23:16] Samraku[1d]: I guess it's more like a respect multiplier for me. If you're right, I respect that, and if you stick to that, it's like a multiplier.
[23:17] Samraku[1d]: But I think the multiplier is the bigger factor. Anyone can be right, but I really respect people who go out and say it regardless of any backlash
[23:23] Vsotvep[2d]: Anyways, I'm going to do something useful
[23:23] Vsotvep[2d]: cheers!
[23:23] Samraku[1d]: HAve fun
[23:24] Samraku[1d]: Want to play acorrespondecne game of TMG, Panada?
[23:27] Samraku[1d]: As long as it's fast correspondence, though I'm fine with any reasonable time controls live if you wanted to schedule a game
