[7:07] joellercoaster[2k]: Dragging doesn't sound so good. Does the changing of the seasons help? For some reason, feeling Autumn on its way somehow makes me feel a bit better about the world.

[9:41] joellercoaster[2k]: How is this going? Like all handicap games, I don't know. But I guess the idea is that I chill out and try to get a little bit more all the time (whatever that means) and either find myself miraculously ahead at the end, or get into a big fight and kill something.

[11:41] joellercoaster[2k]: (what eventually let me quit: ironically, sickness. I got a chest infection one winter and couldn't smoke... by the time I got better the nicotine was gone and I could keep going. So many unsuccessful attempts before that.)

[21:17] trohde[7k]: the first 32 days were horrible, with PERMANENT craving (smoked tobacco and cannabis for 51 years)

[21:17] trohde[7k]: the latter was my gateway drug for the former :-(

[21:19] trohde[7k]: and while I am very happy to be rid of the nicotine, I very much miss the effects of the mixture … vaping is out for me also, because of the bad state of my lungs, and while I do use cannabis orally, the effect is very different

[9:23] joellercoaster[2k]: Congratulations on the coninuing not smoking thing, it is indeed so hard. It took me quite a long time to realise that there is not way to quit smoking that does not involve, simply, continuing to not smoke. Funny you should say that, I had the same gateway drug... back in those days there were not so many alternative ways to get the same chemical into yourself eh.

[9:24] joellercoaster[2k]: Ironically now there are so many ways but my own mental chemistry does not deal with it so well, so I had to stop that too. But the calming and other effects of it I still miss.

[9:24] joellercoaster[2k]: It's funny how different it is - I know what you mean about the mode of delivery affecting the results.
