Black wins by Resignation
Move 1
Vsotvep[5k]: Ah, this is the mirror tournament
Vsotvep[5k]: Well... Oops I guess
Vsotvep[5k]: Actually, never mind. If you want to mirror as White I can play Q16
Feijoa[7k]: I'll just accept the undo so there's no "if" necessary 😁
Vsotvep[5k]: Then I will play Q16
Move 6
March 25, 2025
Feijoa[8k]: This is building a very weak corner, going to have to watch out for that later
Move 16
Feijoa[9k]: Thinking I can secure the left side, then if he attacks my corner I can reduce it as much as possible while securing the top.
Move 26
Feijoa[9k]: Kind of mirroring in spirit now but didn't want to be overconcentrated.
Feijoa[9k]: 😁
Move 68
April 4, 2025
Feijoa[9k]: It's interesting how much the mirror aspect makes me extremely conscious of every possible slack move. I feel that in theory the game should be close to even, so I shouldn't have to give up too much ground.
Feijoa[9k]: Variation: Calmly filling at this point has black ahead by about 5 points
Move 75
April 5, 2025
Vsotvep[5k]: In theory yes, but my idea was to first set up a fuseki that involved influence-oriented stones, and grab Tengen to break White mirroring while reinforcing the influence aspect of the game for Black and simultaneously removing influence for White
Vsotvep[5k]: Then I mirrored until there would be a move that I'd consider slack.
Move 78
Feijoa[9k]: Yup, that was very concerning to me from the beginning.
Vsotvep[5k]: Thanks for the game!
Vsotvep[5k]: Breaking the mirror at move 25 put me ahead by 2 points compared to the empty board, according to KataGo....
Vsotvep[5k]: So little value :'(
Feijoa[9k]: Well that's a lot better than the naive mirror theory that you would end up behind by 6.5.
Vsotvep[5k]: True!
